In progress: The Cyber-NED

A guide for cyber literate boards

With cyber consistently named a top-10 global issue by the WEF and regularly rated as one of board’s top risks, regulators and markets expect well run companies to have appropriate cyber security skills within their Board. This does not necessarily mean having a dedicated ‘Cyber-NED’, or an executive CISO with a board seat - sometimes it is about a depth of experience across the board room as a whole.

However with a lack of board-ready cyber specialists and the need for all directors to be able to contribute fully to broader board discussions, addressing this is a challenge for everyone.

This project brings together the advice and guidance necessary to help boards and nomination committees make good decisions on ensuring sufficient board level cyber skills,
and also to support for cyber leaders in developing their skills for board roles.
